Lily articulates female faces and figures as an exercise in composition as well as a mode of self-reflection. Each figure becomes a character that resonates with a part of the artist herself. These works combine drawn and paper elements with the rich texture of wood and joint compound, allowing the contrast of their elements to enhance one another.
